Comment "WORDS" to this entry and I will comment back with five words I associate with you. Then you post this in your journal elaborating.
The words given to me by
agenttrojie were:
Sails - Large sections of reinforced canvas used to propel ships before the advent of reliable engines made things boring... The Age of Sail, in particular, refers to the point in time wherein naval powers using such methods of propulsion were the primary martial and expansionary forces in Europe. Sailing ships make me squee.
Good Omens - The funniest book you will ever read about the Apocalypse. Written by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, this is a wonderful take on the relationship between the forces of Good and Evil as well as their understanding of humanity. Also includes the Four Bikers of the Apocalypse, an antique Bentley, St James' Park, occasional Americans, and open-ended discussions about angelic sexuality. One of my strongest-running fandoms, as well as the only one for which I have written actual smut.
Cross-dressing - The habit or occasion of dressing in clothing normally identified with a gender other than your own. Dressing so as to appear, whether in a humorous or serious way, as a person of a gender not identified with your physical sex. Socioological experiment/pasttime intended to challenge gender stratification.
Libraries - Repositories of information, knowledge, literature, and various media for public use and research, usually with minimal or no fee involved. To quote Trojie, "Sort of What I Do." I will be attending the University of Vancouver's Library and Information Studies graduate program from September, with the intent of becoming a youth sevices librarian.
Diomedea exulans - Diomedea exulans, the wandering albatross, is an enormous seabird, with the largest wingspan of any living bird. Their wingspans have been recorded as reaching up to twelve feet. They fly great distances across the ocean. They are Stephen Maturin's favorite bird (
Aubrey and Maturin series, Patrick O'Brian).
