The Open Door by Elizabeth Maguire
A fictional account of the later years of Constance Fenimoore Woolson, a writer in the mid to late 1800s.  It's a very quick read, very short, but Constance tells the story of her own journey around Europe, her struggles with her writing and her health and her rocky friendship with Henry James. I'm really fond of Constance.  She's kick-ass and strongly independent despite bouts of ill-health and depression.  Maguire's writing and the excerpts from Woolson's own works are straightforward and lovely.

Finally saw Les Miserables and am reasonably happy with it, though as others have observed, I wish they'd chosen a stronger singer for Javert.  Also, what? Soldiers: Who's there? Les Amis: The French Revolution!  ...worst knock-knock joke ever.
Valjean was good, Eponine was lovely, Marius was not a douchebag for once, and Les Amis de L'ABC were precious and adorable and bwahhh *sniffle*.  I need a photo map of who was who, though, as I only managed to get Enjolras, Grantaire, and Courfeyrac from context.  Also someone had linked to a book-verse fic with Les Amis um...orgy...awhile back and I lost the link.  Anybody know the one I'm talking about?
