Character outlines for a few of the enemies in my superhero universe. These folks will be showing up to oppose Jamie, Ben, Anita, and their team-mates, theoretically in the near future.

Name: Chas Trevors

Alias: Masquer

Age: 33

Gender/Species: Male Human

Physical Description: White. Very handsome, black hair, blue eyes, 6’2”, muscular, tanned.

Powers: Emits psi-energy tendrils that leach into opponents, changing them from the outside in—these energy ‘masks’ alter first the physical, then mental, and finally spiritual aspects of the one attacked into whatever character Masquer devises.

Other Talents/Skills: Professional actor, former Olympic skater (an accident with his partner tore his knee and left him with a permanent limp), noted philanthropist who subsidizes several charities (which happen to be fronts for more dubious businesses, several involving international prostitution rings).

Notes: Grudge directed at powerful, outspoken women. Sadist. He attacked several prominent female activists and businesswomen with his power, reshaping them into submissiveness before killing them. None of these serial killings have been linked to Masquer yet by the police because his power does not leave any form of DNA trace.

Name: Hari Matadeia

Alias: Coin

Age: 46

Gender/Species: Female Human

Physical Description: White. Greying blond hair, dark grey eyes, 5’10”, rangy and athletic-looking.

Powers: Extreme intelligence.

Other Talents/Skills: Information network spanning the globe. Arms dealing, incredible accuracy with all kinds of firearms and ranged weapons.

Notes: An arms-dealer who supplies most of the warring factions in many of Africa and South America’s struggles over the last fifteen years, she built her empire up from the ground.

Name: Jordan Nix

Alias: Dodger

Age: 22

Gender/Species: Male Human

Physical Description: Mixed-race. Black hair, blue-grey eyes, 6’, slender, tattoo of a stylized fox mask on his right shoulder.

Powers: Telekinetic. Specialized in fine-tuned manipulation rather than brute strength.

Other Talents/Skills: Acrobatic, good physical conditioning.

Notes: Thief. Street kid picked up by Coin at age 13. She saw his potential and now uses his skills for reconnaissance, sabotage, and so on. He specializes in stealing plans and blueprints for developmental military-grade weapons for Coin, which she improves and sells on the black market.

Name: Aline Trent

Alias: Alta/Alter/Altar

Age: around 30

Gender/Species: Female Human

Physical Description: White. Red hair, brown eyes, 5’5”, “hourglass” build.

Powers: Trinity powers, she has control of one at a time (each in turn) and shock or trauma can cause her to shift between them. As Alta, she flies, Alter is a matter-manipulator who transforms what she touches, Altar is the power-source who spins energy by burning things—the more symbolic significance they have, the better.

Other Talents/Skills: MA in Anthropology. PhD thesis in progress.

Connections: Her wealthy family has allowed her to fund several digs in South America, and bribe enough officials to smuggle out the artifacts she found there.

Name: Alex Victor

Alias: Blaze

Age: 28

Gender/Species: Male Human

Physical Description: White. Longish hair dyed black and white with the ends red, brown eyes, 5’7”, slightly overweight.

Powers: His body is unaffected by extreme temperatures.

Other Talents/Skills: Though his only power is immunity to extremity, he likes to play with fire—specifically the flamethrowers that have become his favorite weapon. He is a serial arsonist, whose games have caused the deaths of at least fifteen people in the greater city area.

Notes: Works part time at a gas station near the main fire department dispatch station, rides an older, beat up motorcycle.
