yuri_shoujo and I found an awesome show on Hulu a couple of weeks ago. The full title is "Stella Women's Academy, High School Division Class C3", "Stella Women's Academy" or "Shīkyūbu" (C-Cubed) for short. It's set at a women's high school and the characters are members of an airsoft survival games club - basically they go out in the woods or an unused school building and shoot each other with airsoft guns. They participate in tournaments with other schools and non-school clubs. It's adorable. My favorite character, a tall girl named Rento, recruits the lead by basically pouncing on her in joy as a fellow weirdo. The girls all love their war-games with a gleeful joy that reminds me of my own response to SCA armored combat (let me show you my bruises! it was great!), there's no tolerance for "mean girl" shenanigans, no boy problems. There's certainly plot development - the club leader dealing with challenges to her role as the best shot and strategist, rival clubs and old resentments - but I've yet to hit an arc that tripped any real irritation for me. Excellent shoujo anime, slice of life/action with occasional moments of magical realism. PG rated I'd say.
