Story WIP blather - Sharon Carter help?

Soooo, I'm writing Avengers/SHIELD fic.  About women and harassment and women being awesome and Sif being scary.  And I've got no real handle on Sharon Carter.  As I'm not going to be reading my way through however many years' worth of comic there is of her (neither time nor access), could anyone rec any fic or meta that has a good grasp of her characterization?  I'm not necessarily planning to stick to any one portrayal of her, but I'd like a place to start.  I don't want to make her a complete OC.
