hsavinien: (J+W - Indeed)
Midsummer Night's Dream is progressing pretty well (luckily, as dress is tomorrow and performances are Friday and Saturday).  I'm playing Francis Flute, the rustic who gets saddled playing "Thisbe" (a Juliet analog) in the play-within-a-play, so recursive cross-dressing yesssss, indeed.  The rustics are doing pretty awesome, actually.  We totally cracked up at rehearsal today during our play, helped along by Bottom/"Pyramus" losing the button off his trousers and having to pull his pants up repeatedly during the scene.  Hopefully I'll have got the giggles out of my system now...  We're doing a collaboration with the local ballet teacher (who's trying to keep things G-rated.  In a Shakespeare play.  Yeah).  So, there are number of dance numbers scattered throughout, as all the little dancers are being fairies and insects under Titania's court.  Titania has a couple of spiffy dances of her own, which are turning out awesome.  She's not as spot on with her lines as could be wished, since most of her effort has gone towards the dancing, so we'll see how that goes.  Today I rushed over straight from work and stayed late to help decorate Titania's bower and fix up the fairy cavalier's tunic (the actor who plays Bottom is also taking that role in a mask to do lifts and things during one of the big dance numbers).  I'm enjoying myself.  It's been too long since I got to play with theatre folks.

My parents and [livejournal.com profile] yuri_shoujo are coming to the last performance, Saturday night, which will be cool.

And after Saturday, I'll have my evenings to spend with my lady again, yay!
