Agents of SHIELD pilot play-by-play

Just my reactions to stuff...
Aw, cute kid. Obvious family issues, probably divorce. Ooh, explosion! Ooooh. Who are you, sir? You climb walls! And she saw your face, not good.

Aaand now we've got white dudes in their late 20s playing Bond, meh.

Who are you, Ward, and why are you talking to Agent Hill like that? She is your freaking superior officer and the Assistant Director and you are...getting chewed out? I think. Hill, your badassery appears to have been hijacked for the sake of exposition. :/ Why the hell is this putz a level six? It makes being a level six much less impressive.

Yaaaay, Coulson! Oh god you're adorable.

Hmm, the dad has a new stalker.

Ahahah, Tahiti. Oh, Nat and Clint are gonna kiiill you. Okay, I freaking dislike Ward. You are a whiny white boy. "Best combat grades since Romanov" my ass. DO not try to pretend this guy is anything up to Natasha's grade. Baww, Coulson. Eeeh! Shepherd Book = doctor!

Okay, Hill's "dismissed" was at least up to standard.

Nuuu, LMD? D:

Stalker...this fangirl thing better be an act. Yeahhh, totally an act.

Okay, I like Melinda. She's basically got a flashing neon sign over her head that says "Backstory here!" but I like her.

*laughs* British geeks! Okay, they can stay. Coulson has a pretty caaaar!

Okay, annoying hacker yuppie stalker is annoying. You are like Darcy, but less fun and endearing.

Ohhhh dear. Super-drugs. Oh dear. And dad's a blue collar black man. Not cool.

Oy, knock off this dissing of fans, asshole.

Ahahahahah, okay, I approve of drugging Ward.

Oh dear. Oh dear. Oh dear. Oh guys...super-drugs turning frustrated black single dad violent was not a cool writing choice. This is racial issues out the wazoo.

Oh, that's interesting.  Doctor = blown-up lady.  Doctor lady, what part of "this drug turns people delusional and dangerous" didn't we get?

Coulson, you are an excellent asshole.

Oh god, hijacked Skye, not good.

"We'll deal with that later, at length."  Yup, I like Melinda.

"Nobody's 'nobody.'" - Yes. <3

Oh yes, I freaking approve of Melinda May.

Definitely some home truths in Michael's monologue. :(  Still not thrilled with the racial (and class) dynamics in this episode.

COULSON HAS A FLYING CAR.  STEVE WILL BE THRILLED!

Verdict: Not bad.  I like everyone except Skye and Ward. Fitz and Simmons the geeks are adorable, Coulson is yaaaay, and May is awesome!  Hopefully there is less focusing on Ward in future as he is an annoying whiny white boy that they have apparently promoted way too far, given his clearance level.  Looking for Hill to be more awesome in future without the constraints of being walking exposition.  Please to be having less racism in future, 'kay?

This is kind of a useless comment, but this is a fun review, and when I do eventually watch this show I'm totally going to come back and reread this and be like "Hahaha, I pictured that scene so much differently when I only had hsavinien's review to go on."

Heheh, thanks. It's not actually a terribly useful review unless you've seen the thing I'm watching, I know, but I enjoy doing it.
