(Work break) Update
Lady's back from war! <3 She was gone for a month. I missed her a lot and the dog was devastated. She had fun and got to see friends and family though, so that was yay.
Things which are new:
Inspired by Inception, Tom Hardy being sexy, and the ficcing tendencies of
agenttrojie, I borrowed RocknRolla from the library and watched it. Then I immediately borrowed it again to rewatch with my lady. Fffh, yes, do want. Favorite characters: the Wild Bunch (particularly Handsome Bob, mmmm), Stella (whose fate was unclear at the end of the movie, but probably unpleasant *wince*), and Archie. Handsome Bob, of course, was played by Tom Hardy and yum. I liked the convoluted nature of the story. Could have done with more women. Guy Ritchie is a little bad at that, I think. The women who exist are full of awesome, but they're kinda thin on the ground.
Then I watched Bronson, because I'd heard it was weird and that Hardy was in it. That was...the extent of my knowledge. And...well. Tom Hardy plays the main character and does it brilliantly, and the movie is really interesting and structured in cool ways, but said main character is a seriously crazy shithead. I have now seen Tom Hardy bare-ass naked and it was fan disservice. o_O No fair...
So, I've been reading Inception and RocknRolla (awwwwyeah, teeny fandom) fic and that is yay.
I've been making steampunk-inspired jewelry lately. I've only got a few pieces finished so far, but will take pics and post/link to my DevArt posts of them when I do.
Religious-related stuff under cut for those uninterested:
I am Catholic and this is our high season. I went to Holy Thursday mass yesterday evening and was very disappointed. (For anyone not Catholic: There's a reading about Jesus washing the feet of his disciples before they eat.) Every other church I've been to, the washing of feet is a major part of the evening. It is, in fact, one of the parts of the church year I find most meaningful and relevant to my own faith. Service to others, particularly those less powerful than you, is a way that I feel shows love and faith the best. Not here, apparently. The priest (who is a generally nice person and has a very thick Polish accent) washed the feet of...about five guys in the front row, then packed up the basin and towel and got on with the rest of the mass. What. EVERY other church I've been at, the entire church (or at least, everyone who felt comfortable with it) went up and got their feet washed, then washed the feet of the next person. It's an awesome moment of service and community. It was just plain jarring to me that this didn't happen. I hope the rest of the weekend goes better. I figure it will, but that's not huge consolation.

*hugs* I'm sorry the church here was being disappointing. I'm also sorry I probably wasn't as sympathetic as I could have been when you were talking about it since I was in a Mood. Not a good excuse. I hope mass today is good.
